The Retailer of the Year award entries were judged based on an entry statement, management philosophy, retail center aesthetics, and marketing materials. An independent panel of judges selected the winners.

This year's winners shows extreme pride in their businesses as well as the manufactured housing industry. They bring out the best in manufactured housing, from the extra efforts they have placed in the display of their homes to a strong commitment to customer service.

Home-Mart, Inc.

Home-Mart, Inc., located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serves Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. The company has earned the reputation of being the preeminent "customer friendly" place to shop with its long history of open doors and posted prices. In addition, Home-Mart has achieved strong recognition as a result of a 14-year, million dollar plus, multi-faceted marketing approach that has employed television, infomercials, radio, display ads, billboards, yellow pages, special events, on-site broadcasts, an interactive Web site and direct mail marketing.

The center is located on five plus acres with fenced display fronts on two major streets and includes 11,780 square feet of office and warehouse space. A project is underway that will establish three model village display areas and an attractive landscaped street front area. Two 10 by 20 foot signs with message marquee, plus a large double-sided, lighted billboard provides high visibility. The owners of Home-Mart, Inc. have developed and refined a proprietary software package that is fully networked with computer terminals at each sales desk. The program allows Home-Mart to assist customers in selecting a site to place their new home, customizing floor plans and applying for credit.
